A story of what i was busy with the last couple of month.

We are an art collective in an art organisation called Motel Spatie in Arnhem-NL. After a journey of five years with this organisation, we lost our board members because of some mistake made by our director. After a while we start to get some information from the director about four artists have to leave the space because of a big project coming up. We knew about the projects but we didn't know that the big project going to effect our art practices. Some of this practices or you can call it projects was used by the director as a solid part to apply for fundings in the last couple of years. The money part was always not clear for us, never really cared about it because it's always under the concept of volunteer "invisible work" by the director.

So we start a meme group collective page called boycott.spatie.

The idea of this collective to criticise our self and whats going on in the organisation because we have no place to go to for complaining about our director.
(After we lost our board members she formed a temporary board members of her sister, her boss at work and an artist who don't have time to talk to us).

We start to meet every day to discuss memes and what we doing, the idea wasn't to kick out the director but to criticise whats wrong in the organisation. Because we are artists and not into running a funding organisation.

After a long months of emails and private msgs between us and the director she decide to Resigned. We end up with all the paper work and the foundation of Motel Spatie. We decide to take over and try our best to let the space survive. It took us a lot of time and emotions to stand up back in our feet.

we are in the bureaucracy of connecting with the municipality to support us, we manage to keep the space for now by the first actual step of writing a new policy for the space and we call the space now "Under the table", next step is applying for fundings through the municipality and the application has to be about our artistic vision and what is our own projects for the coming six months individually.
